Part 1: Theory (Morning Session)

  1. Introduction (15 minutes):
    • Briefly recap the previous week’s lessons.
    • Introduce the goals and objectives of Week 8.
    • Provide an overview of the day’s schedule.
  2. Creating High-Fidelity Designs with a Focus on Web3 Principles (60 minutes):
    • Lecture on the importance of high-fidelity designs in the final stages of the design process.
    • Explain the purpose and benefits of creating high-fidelity designs, including increased precision, better visual appeal, and improved stakeholder communication.
    • Introduce Web3 principles, such as decentralisation, trustlessness, and censorship resistance.
    • Discuss the implications of Web3 principles on user experience and interface design.
    • Provide examples of high-fidelity designs that incorporate Web3 principles.
    • Engage students in a Q&A session to ensure understanding of the concepts.
  3. Break (15 minutes)
  4. Integrating Web3 Features and Technologies into Your Design (60 minutes):
    • Lecture on the importance of integrating Web3 features and technologies into your design.
    • Explain the role of Web3 technologies, such as blockchain, smart contracts, decentralised applications (dApps), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in modern digital products.
    • Introduce popular Web3 platforms, libraries, and frameworks for design integration, such as Ethereum, IPFS, and MetaMask.
    • Provide examples of designs that successfully integrate Web3 features and technologies.
    • Discuss best practices for incorporating Web3 elements into your design while maintaining usability and accessibility.
    • Engage students in a Q&A session to ensure understanding of the concepts.
  5. Preparing Your Design for Client Presentation (45 minutes):
    • Lecture on the importance of preparing your design for client presentation.
    • Discuss best practices for packaging your design deliverables, including creating a design system, exporting assets, and documenting design decisions.
    • Explain how to create an engaging and informative presentation to showcase your design’s key features, Web3 integrations, and iterative improvements.
    • Engage students in a Q&A session to ensure understanding of the concepts.

Part 2: Hands-On Practical Activities (Afternoon Session)

  1. High-Fidelity Design Activity (60 minutes):
    • Divide students into small groups.
    • Assign each group a specific project or problem to solve, preferably based on the low-fidelity prototypes and usability test findings from previous weeks.
    • Instruct groups to create high-fidelity designs for their assigned project, incorporating Web3 principles and features.
    • Rotate through the groups, providing guidance and support as needed.

  3. Web3 Integration Activity (60 minutes):
    • Provide students with access to Web3 platforms, libraries, and frameworks introduced in the morning session.
    • Instruct students to integrate Web3 features and technologies into their high-fidelity designs.
    • Offer support and guidance to students as they work with the Web3 tools.
  4. Client Presentation Preparation Activity (45 minutes):
    • Have groups reconvene and refine their high-fidelity designs based on the Web3 integration activity.
    • Instruct groups to prepare a client presentation showcasing their design, Web3 integration, and iterative improvements.
    • Facilitate a discussion among the groups, encouraging them to share their findings and insights.
  5. Wrap-up and Reflection (30 minutes):
    • Invite each group to present their high-fidelity designs and client presentations to the class.
    • Facilitate a class-wide discussion about the day’s activities, highlighting key learnings and insights.
    • Congratulate students on their progress throughout the course and encourage them to continue practising and honing their design skills.
